- Coming soon, I promise…
I’ve got a few rolls on the burner, just waiting for them to come back.
- First rolls from the Autocord
Just got a few of the rolls back shot with the Autocord I bought a few weeks ago. I like it a lot. It takes a little time learning to see things in a square format, but it’s a lot of fun. I especially like that you can’t change lenses and are forced to work with what you have, instead of second-guessing yourself on which lens would work best.
It’s been a while since I worked with film so in one sense, it’s frustrating not being able to see your results right away, but it’s also exciting to get it back form the lab. The only thing I really don’t like is having to get prints so that I can scan them. I wish I could use a film scanner, but I can’t really justify the price considering that I probably won’t ever use 120 film as much as digital. I also find that because I take it to the lab, and I’m not able to process it myself currently, that I’m pretty disappointed with the results. Not so much the negatives, but the prints for sure. Yeah, I can tweak it in Photoshop, but it would be nice to get it right in the print. More to come…
- Some holga shots from a while ago…
I think these are at least a year or two old. I stumbled upon them when cleaning my room today. I think I just forgot to scan them.
- Galactic Center of Milky Way
This is super cool.
- King Snow
I found out about King Snow after they added me on Twitter (still not sure how, as I had just signed up, or why as I don’t think my name is tied with anything snowboard-related [yet]). I’m glad they did though, because the pairing of the arts and snowboarding seems so natural when you think about it, yet I haven’t seen many other magazines/webzines make the connection before. On the site, there’s not only snowboarding photography, but also illustration, painting, and other types of photography, as well.
- Komatsu Tractor
I found this place a few days ago while I was wandering around looking for interesting locations near my apartment. Decided to go there tonight and explore even though I only had about 20 minutes before I had to meet Nami. I’m going to have to go back to this place sometime soon. Lots of cool machinery and warehouses to explore. It’s tough, because on the weekends I want to stay up late and do light painting etc. but my body can’t break my work cycle and I feel exhausted after 9:00pm. I can fight it, but I’ll still be up early the next morning making me exhausted for going back to work the next day. Maybe Friday is the best day to do this kind of stuff.
Nothing fancy as I only had a short period of time. One SB800 gelled and popped a few times under the tractor at 1/4 power zoomed in to 105mm.
- Happy Birthday, Me!
My birthday present to myself, a 1955 Minolta Autocord.
- Re-re-re-re-birth
Well, seeing as it’s my birthday, might as well bring this blog back from the dead yet again. I’m liking this theme. I think it meshes well with my website design (also to be updated again soon).
